"Veteran Scottish singer Rod Stewart is to give Prince Charles a £1million birthday gift - by singing for free at his party next month.

In a move which dispels the stereotype of Scots being tight-fisted, the 63-year-old singer generously agreed to sing for gratis at a private party in the Prince's home at Highgrove, Gloucestershire.

Stewart, who charges £1m for a private performance, will perform for the Prince, his family and friends on November 15 - the day after his birthday...."   co.uk
