Quote: "The traumatic events in Mumbai have once more refocused the attention of ordinary Americans about how President Elect Barack Obama will respond to a major international crisis.

During the presidential election campaign much was made of Mr Obama's relative inexperience on the world stage, and serious questions were raised about his suitability to fill the all-important role of commander in chief of American's armed forces, not least by Senator John McCain, his Republican rival and a highly decorated war veteran.

The Bush..."

I would expect him to do something similar to what Clinton did since most of his administration is Clinton based.

I agree, Prism. Not a single person or even a small team of people will be able to instantly fix the problems that Obama will be facing when he enters office. It will likely take his first full term, and maybe even two full terms. And the president who will eventually follow him will be obligated to continue the progressive change that he starts.

Hope he handles it better than Clinton, democrats are historically not war time Presidents.

Also I think Obama's challenges are about equal or lesser than Reagan's.

The sky isn''t falling it's the democrats that paint the awful picture, opinion is hurting the economy more than fact, if we felt good then we would spend more, but since we feel bad we are spending less.

McCain had it right the fundamentals are strong, this thing will burn out and rebuild but as long as government keeps interfering we will just take steps backwards.

I really hope we don't bail out the auto industry let them fail with their own flawed business plan.

The banks were different because the government pushed the bills on them to accept anyone and even if they couldn't afford the house they are buying and are living beyond their means.

The autos however never tried to make efficient vehicles kept pushing out SUV's and Hummers, and are letting the Union's run wild.

Look at Toyota they have tons of plants here in GA, were business tax is much lower, those aren't unionized and have increased employee wages as well as added jobs.

Meanwhile the American auto industry pays their CEO's up to 39 million or more dollars to run companies into the ground, I think Toyota's highest paid CEO makes 13 million.

Its too late to save auto I hope Obama knows because that money will never be returned and they will still fail, they are gonna have to declare bankruptcy and operate at a lower level and eliminate the unions that are dragging them down.

When all the Dumbocrats get settled into their offices and sit there thinking as they all to often do and start talking together the American people will have to pay more for their programs which will be the opposite of anything progressive.

Sad you think B that I hate or need love. That's not a true statement about me. I need neither.
I look for truth in people which Dumbocrats have none. It is all made up to satisfy themselves for their own gain.
That is what I am against. Not to satisfy hate but to tell the truth from my experiences in life. I learn something new everyday. Do you?

"democrats are historically not war time Presidents"

Study history just a little bit better, and get to know Franklin D. Roosevelt.

I hope Obama does step up to these challenges, I mean his hero is Lincoln and he keeps comparing himself to Reagan so it's a good start.

If however he fails I predict that the GOP will win the majority once again in 2 years and keep him in check till 2012.

Wouldn't want the job. I remain a patriot.
I only put labels on those who label me. When it comes to terror, you would negotiate with those who would kill you?

Wilson was not so great he couldn't get us to join the League of Nations.

Besides that whole Treaty of Versailles thing, which was based on his Fourteen Points is pretty much what is what set Germany off and brought Hitler to power.

Besides that war the US should not have entered, Britain and Germany both violated our Neutrality but when we only took action against Germany they started sinking our merchants using U-Boats.

The truth is alot of wealthy people had ties to Great Britain the armed munitions makers and stockholders, bonds made a killing from World War I.

Yeah, if you can change their way of looking at you then its worth it, if you cant, then take it to the streets but I understand you dont know how to see things from anyone elses point of view but your own, I dont agree with the way they value life, but seems you dont value it any more than they do, how does that make you different from them? I guess your idea of peace is exterminate anyone who lives differently than you huh? you remind me of some old films I seen but they were pretty hard to understand since the narration was in German

I do completely understand that you would rather see the world constantly fighting amongst each other, god only knows that trying to open up dialogue with people and resolving conflicts without nuclear weapons is completely out of the question
